NY Tech Meetup : April 1, 2008.
Best candidates for success were Trendrr (which aggregates all of the disparate RSS and news alerts I already receive in my inbox) and the newly popular Muxtape (which lets you trade quick MP3 playlists).
I particularly like that Trendrr evolved from an in-house brand-tracking tool for a PR firm into a cultural tracker that’s being passed along to consumers. Everyone has an interest in doing this kind of monitoring on some level, so it’s nice to see such an elegant tool emerge.
[Pictured here is Twiddla, which while an interesting take on collaborative webdesign, wasn’t quite ready for the onslaught of hundreds of meetup attendees slamming the site in realtime!]
